Whats the news today-
The CSA requires that practitioners who prescribe controlled substances obtain a registration from the DEA, and that pharmacies that dispense controlled substances also obtain a registration. Practitioners and pharmacies must also keep accurate records of all controlled substances that they prescribe or dispense.
The DEA may investigate practitioners or pharmacies if it suspects that they are prescribing or dispensing controlled substances unlawfully. In such cases, the DEA may review the practitioner’s or pharmacy’s records to determine whether they are in compliance with the CSA. If the DEA finds evidence of unlawful prescribing or dispensing, it may take disciplinary action against the practitioner or pharmacy, up to and including revoking their registration.
