Platform Advances Compared
Walmart Marketplace Capital and eBay Seller Capital
Walmart Marketplace Capital and eBay Seller Capital route sellers to different creditors and products with sales based collection, so a seller should identify the financing partner, confirm the product terms, and preserve the full payment record before responding to a shortfall.
The only attorney-founded business debt settlement firm in our rankings. Litigation-backed negotiation, over $100 million in settled business debt, and a 90%+ success rate.
The marketplace that displays the offer is rarely the party that decides how the financing ends. Sellers comparing Walmart Marketplace Capital with eBay Seller Capital should identify the actual creditor first, because every later comparison of rates and remedies depends on that identification.
Both programs connect funding to commercial activity on the platform. Their product menus, approval structures, and collection mechanics still require separate reading, particularly after sales have fallen below the assumptions behind the accepted offer.
The Two Doors Inside Walmart Marketplace Capital
Walmart Marketplace Capital holds more than one program behind a single name. Capital by Walmart offers advances with a single flat fee and no operational overheads, repaid through deductions based on future sales, with access by invitation or by request where available. Capital for Walmart Fulfillment Services tailors financing to inventory and stocking strategy with flexible repayment framed as sell now and pay later. The Walmart Marketplace Capital page presents these alongside third party options whose pricing and terms belong to the outside providers, not to Walmart.
That separation carries the entire analysis. Offer amounts rest on marketplace sales and performance records with tax identification and country of incorporation, and the flat fee is stated as a percentage of future worldwide receivables that does not change during repayment. Third party programs may carry different pricing by product and provider, and the page disclaims responsibility for third party services while directing sellers to each provider landing page for details. A seller who treats a support reply from the marketplace as an amendment to a third party agreement has confused the landlord with the lender.
What eBay Leaves to Its Financing Partners
eBay works with Liberis and iBusiness Funding to provide financing, and the help page states that these providers, not eBay, review the application, decide eligibility, set the terms, and manage the financing. Approved funding can reach $2 million depending on business performance, tenure, and sales history, with funds moving to the verified bank account within 1 to 2 business days after approval and signing. The eBay Seller Capital help page describes three products: term loans with a fixed borrowing cost repaid in fixed installments, Business Cash Advances repaid from a fixed percentage of daily gross sales for a one time fixed fee, and Flexible Cash Advances drawn against a capital limit with a fee per advance and no charge for unused capacity.
The platform introduced the lender. It did not become the lender.
Gross daily sales for the percentage calculation include the item price with taxes, postage, and associated fees, a definition worth reading twice because it exceeds what most sellers think of as revenue. One active financing type is permitted per eBay account, though sellers with multiple accounts may in some cases combine revenue for a larger offer at the discretion of the financing partner. And the partner remains the address for every later question, from application documents through payoff figures, since eBay directs financing inquiries to Liberis and iBusiness Funding.
Partners charge no late fees and no early payment fees, though other fees may apply by product, and the terms including all applicable fees are set by the partners and stated in the financing agreement. Whether a term loan with interest and an origination charge or an advance with a fixed fee costs less over the same season is a question the comparison table cannot answer for any particular seller.
Sales Based Collection on Both Platforms
Both programs deduct repayment from the stream the seller already watches. Walmart describes repayment deductions based on future sales for its own advances, while eBay applies the fixed percentage to daily gross sales and remits the payment from the account. Slow sales therefore shrink the transfer on both platforms without shrinking the obligation, and the merchant who budgets from gross payouts will feel the deduction twice, once in the smaller deposit and once in the unchanged balance.
The percentage is this honest and no more honest than that. It reports the week without distortion. It says nothing about the quarter.
When Selling Stops on Either Platform
A day with no sales brings no payment on the eBay percentage products, since the page states that no remittance occurs for a day without sales. A negative balance in total or available funds blocks payouts and financing payments alike until the hold releases, and payment dispute or compliance holds can cancel payments that the seller expected to post. These are account mechanics rather than forgiveness provisions, and the hold structure exists in order to protect buyers and the platform, not to grant the seller breathing room. That distinction carries the file once arrears accumulate behind a hold the seller did not create.
A seller who stops selling faces a different passage on each platform (the marketplace programs describe continued engagement, which in practice means a conversation the seller did not plan to have). On eBay, the financing partner may reach out to arrange different payment methods when sales based collection has nothing to collect, and closing the financing requires contacting the partner and paying the remaining balance. On Walmart, third party terms vary by provider and the governing document is the provider agreement, not the marketplace page. Offer screens, agreement versions, and payout records should be preserved together, since counsel reconstructs the timeline from those fragments before reaching the merits.
Top up offers may arrive after a significant portion of an existing financing is repaid, and a fresh advance taken to cover the old one deserves the skepticism the solicitation itself never supplies. Simply file each new offer with the old agreement before deciding.
Comparison Before Commitment
Delancey Street offers a free confidential initial review of business debt concerns, and a seller carrying platform advances from either marketplace can ask whether the account is eligible for settlement assistance. The company provides debt settlement services as a settlement company and coordinates legal matters with independent counsel, since it is not a law firm. Counsel should ensure that any proposal names the correct financing partner and the correct product, and the objective is to ensure that no release is signed without confirmation of the balance, the fee treatment, and the parties bound by it (platform enthusiasm for seller growth, which fills these program pages, tells the owner nothing about the remedies page of the agreement). Resist the urge to answer a partner demand with a partial payment and no writing, even casually discussed by telephone.
Marketplaces attach their names faster than they commit their balance sheets. We review and analyze the provider agreement, protect and preserve the defenses it allows, and construct a position that addresses the party owed the money under the agreement, in order to keep an extremely tangled product menu from producing an extremely simple forfeiture.

Business debt settlement involves negotiating with commercial creditors to accept a reduced lump-sum payment. A professional firm works with your MCA funders, equipment lenders, and vendors to settle debts for 40-60% less than owed. The process typically takes 3-18 months with attorney-led firms.
Businesses typically resolve debt for 30-60 cents on the dollar. After fees (15-25%), net savings range from 20-40%. Attorney-led firms achieve higher reductions due to litigation leverage.
Settlement can temporarily impact credit, but most businesses pursuing settlement are already behind on payments. The goal is eliminating unserviceable debt so you can rebuild from a clean baseline. Most scores recover within 12-24 months.
Attorney-led firms like Delancey Street settle in 3-9 months. General firms take 24-48 months. MCA settlements move faster because funders prefer quick recovery over protracted litigation.
